MEALS EATEN IN FRONT OF THE TV TEND TO BE LARGER.

Our food intake is always larger during meals eaten in front of the TV (15% more calories on average). Man being a visual animal, sight indeed prevails over all the other senses. The risk of suggestion adds to this physiological reality: some of us light a cigarette whenever they see an actor smoking, and others automatically reach for a bag of potato chips or a chocolate bar every time an image “reminds” them that they might want to. This is the reason why most food ads are scheduled before or during meal times.
